Húsnæðis- og mannvirkjastofnun (HMS), also known as the Housing and Construction Authority or Agency, is an Icelandic organization responsible for protecting public life quality, assets, and the environment through active monitoring of quality and safety in construction. It aims to ensure a better supply of affordable housing, assess future housing needs, and contribute to housing market stability. HMS also handles the implementation of the Housing Benefit Act, providing monthly payments to assist those who rent residential premises.
