Tyrkland is the Icelandic name for Turkey, a country located in Eastern Thrace in Southeastern Europe and Anatolia in West Asia. Iceland and Turkey have maintained diplomatic relations since 1957, with the Icelandic Embassy in Copenhagen accredited to Turkey and the Turkish Embassy in Oslo accredited to Iceland. Turkey is expected to open an embassy in Reykjavík by the end of 2026, signifying a new stage in diplomatic relations and reinforcing their shared NATO commitments.
