The Allsherjar- og menntamálanefnd (Committee on General Affairs and Education) is one of the eight permanent committees of the Althing, the Icelandic Parliament. It is responsible for a broad range of issues including judicial and law enforcement matters, human rights, citizenship, consumer affairs, matters concerning the National Church and other religious organizations, gender equality, and education, culture, science, and technology. The committee plays a significant role in shaping legislation and policy across these critical sectors in Iceland.
