Samgöngustofa, also known as the Icelandic Transport Authority (Icetra), is the government agency in Iceland responsible for the administration and oversight of all modes of transport, including air, road, and sea. Established in 2013, its primary role is to promote safe, sustainable, efficient, and economical transportation within the country. The agency's responsibilities include regulatory functions, supervision of transport infrastructure and navigation systems, and issuing licenses and certifications for Icelandic transport companies.
