Seyðisfjörður is a picturesque town located in the Eastern Region of Iceland, nestled at the innermost point of the fjord of the same name. It is known for its well-preserved colorful wooden houses, vibrant artistic community, and stunning natural scenery with surrounding mountains and waterfalls. Seyðisfjörður also serves as a significant port, being the Icelandic terminal for the Norröna ferry, which connects Iceland to mainland Europe via the Faroe Islands and Denmark. The town's road connection to the rest of Iceland, Route 93 over Fjarðarheiði mountain pass, is often challenging due to snowstorms, leading to discussions and plans for a tunnel, Fjarðarheiðargöng, though its construction has been delayed.
