Harpa is a prominent concert hall and conference center located on the waterfront in Reykjavík, Iceland. Opened in 2011, it serves as a major cultural and social hub, housing the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the Icelandic National Opera. Its distinctive colored glass façade, inspired by Iceland's basalt landscape and designed in collaboration with Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson, has garnered international acclaim and numerous awards, including the 2013 Mies van der Rohe Award. Harpa is owned by the state and the City of Reykjavík, and its construction, which was completed despite the 2008 financial crisis, symbolizes Iceland's resilience and comeback.
