Foreldrahús (Parents' House) is an Icelandic counseling and treatment center for children, adolescents, and their families dealing with behavioral, emotional, and substance abuse issues. Established in 1999 by the organization Vímulaus æska (Drug-Free Youth), it has been a significant resource in Iceland, providing family counseling, parent groups, self-empowerment courses, and support for young people struggling with substance abuse. The organization is set to cease operations on May 1st due to a lack of government funding, leaving a gap in services as no comparable alternative is available.
