Vesturland, also known as West Iceland or the Western Region, is one of the eight traditional regions of Iceland, located on the western coast of the island, north of the capital Reykjavík. It is characterized by dramatic landscapes, including glaciers, volcanoes, hot springs, and waterfalls, and is rich in Icelandic sagas and folklore. The region's largest town is Akranes, while Borgarnes serves as its administrative center.
