Amazon is a major American multinational technology company specializing in e-commerce, cloud computing (Amazon Web Services - AWS), online advertising, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence. While Amazon's retail presence in Iceland is not as direct as in some larger markets, its AWS cloud services are available and utilized by Icelandic entities, including the Icelandic government for its "Digital Iceland" initiative. Additionally, Amazon Crossing, Amazon's publishing arm, has published works by Icelandic authors, and the UK-based supermarket chain Iceland (which is a separate entity from the country) has expanded its grocery delivery partnership with Amazon across the UK.
