Slysavarnafélagið Landsbjörg, also known as the Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue (ICE-SAR), is a national organization of rescue units and accident prevention divisions in Iceland. Established in 1999 through the merger of Slysavarnafélag Íslands and Landsbjörg, it is one of Iceland's largest volunteer organizations, with approximately 10,000 to 18,000 members across 99 rescue units, 70 accident prevention divisions, and 50 youth sections. Its primary mission is to prevent accidents and save lives and valuables through the dedicated work of its volunteers, who are available day and night, year-round. The organization also operates the Maritime Safety and Survival Training Centre and an international urban search and rescue (USAR) unit.
