Stuðlar, also known as the Stuðlar Treatment Centre, is a state diagnostic and treatment facility in Iceland for juveniles aged 12 to 18 years, operated by the National Agency for Children and Families. It provides emergency accommodation for children facing severe issues such as substance abuse, behavioral problems, or homelessness, with a maximum stay of 14 days in most cases. The center gained notable attention following a fire in October 2024 that resulted in the death of a 17-year-old boy and injury to a staff member, leading to an ongoing investigation by the Housing and Construction Authority (HMS) and the police.
