Norðursjór, also known as the North Sea, is a marginal sea of the Atlantic Ocean located between Great Britain, Scandinavia, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and France. It is a significant body of water for European shipping, fisheries, and energy resources, including oil, natural gas, and wind power. The North Sea has historical geopolitical importance and is currently a focus for NATO operations, with German ships participating in exercises there and in the Baltic Sea.
