Íris Róbertsdóttir is the current mayor of Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland, a position she has held since 2018. She was initially elected as the leader of the H-listinn (Fyrir Heimaey) party, which formed after a split from the Independence Party in Vestmannaeyjar. Recently, she accepted the request to be the mayoral candidate for the Independence Party in the upcoming municipal elections in May 2026, having decided to join the party. She has been involved in local politics for many years, serving on various committees and councils, and is a trained elementary school teacher.
