Lögregla refers to the police force in Iceland, responsible for maintaining law and order throughout the country, excluding its territorial waters. The organization operates under the Ministry of Justice and is structured into nine districts. Their duties include crime prevention, investigation, and managing emergency calls through the 112 emergency line, as well as coordinating land-based search and rescue operations.
